Equine Caretaker

Five Star Life is looking to add to our team! We are in search of quality candidates to join our equine program. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, daily chores, feeding, turnout, stall cleaning, and care of horses and other animals. The right candidate would also be capable of assisting in our experiential education programs and teaching students to ride while implementing our Five Star Life curriculum. We are also looking for seasonal help for our fall programs. Minimum of 2+ years experience with horses is required.

Note: Due to the physical demands of the job, candidates should be in good physical condition and able to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

- Turning horses in/out: Safely and confidently handle horses during turnout and bring them back to their stalls or paddocks.

- Feeding: Prepare and distribute feed according to specific dietary requirements, ensuring all horses receive their meals on time.

- Stall cleaning: Thoroughly clean and maintain the cleanliness of horse stalls, including removing bedding, waste, and debris.

- General stable maintenance: Assist with general maintenance tasks such as sweeping aisles, organizing supplies, and maintaining equipment.

- Assisting with horse care: Support other staff members in grooming, tacking up, and basic healthcare tasks for the horses as needed.

Requirements:

- Minimum of 2+ years experience with horses is required.

- Positive attitude and a genuine love for horses and the equestrian industry.

- Hard-working and detail-oriented, with the ability to maintain a clean and organized environment.

- Ability to handle horses safely and confidently, following established procedures and guidelines.

- Reliability and punctuality to ensure the smooth operation of daily stable routines.

- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.

- Flexibility in scheduling, with both part-time and full-time positions available.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
