Job Title: Lead Teacher
Required Availability: Full-Time; 30-40 hrs./week; Monday - Friday
(Occasional weekend dates for certifications if needed. i.e. CPR/First Aid Training)
Job Summary: Must be a qualified, passionate, and loving person with a passion to educate
young children and prepare them for the future. An ideal candidate will embody the Five Star
Life Core Values at the Learning Academy and outside of the Learning Academy. An excellent
Lead Teacher will possess skills such as compassion and patience when dealing with children. A
positive and creative approach to education is an asset to individuals seeking this position. The
goal is to contribute to the social and emotional development of the child so they can more
easily acclimate in the next level of education.
Essential Job Functions:
Planning for Classroom Instruction
- Create weekly lesson plans and implement an age-appropriate curriculum that
nurtures and stimulates all domains of each child’s development in their care.
Upload lesson plans for each week by the Thursday before on HiMama.
- Provide a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the
children’s learning and growth
Teaching Classroom Lessons
- Provide a classroom environment that encourages parent participation
- Provide a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the
children’s learning and growth
- Perform ongoing developmental evaluations of children as required
- Assist in the evaluation process of all students at the Academy
Home Care
- Maintain ongoing, open communication with parents and caregivers with the
direction and approval of the ELA Director
- Ensure that each family receives an opportunity to build strong relationships with
teaching staff
- Plan periodical parent conferences to discuss children’s developmental progress,
needs and interests
Five Star Life Care
- Account for cleaning, setup, closeout, and daily procedure checklist standards
- Maintain a level of tour-readiness and a high bar of organization, cleanliness, and
Five Star Care at all times both in personal classroom and in the common areas of
the ELA.
Other Duties as Determined by The Business Office
- Assist with a variety of tasks, including property care, checks, and upkeep
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Two years of teaching experience
- Valid CPR certification
- Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and in case of emergency a 40-pound child
- Prepared to pass a criminal background check
- Able to maintain an overall positive and professional disposition
- Effectively plan, organize and implement educational activities
- Demonstrable record of making decisions on behalf of children with their well-being the
top priority

Compensation:
Starting pay typically ranges from $14-16/hr, but is based on experience
